Nicola graduated from the WA Conservatorium of Music WAAPA with a Diploma of Music Teaching, Certificate in Music and Associate in Pianoforte, having studied with Pauline Belviso for 7 years.  During this time she participated in master classes with Howard Shelly and many other visiting pianists.  In 1984 she was awarded the David O'Neil prize for Performance and in 1987, the WA Music Teachers Association award for Teaching.

Nicola has taught piano at Methodist Ladies College. Penrhos College and currently is employed by Lumen Christi College as part of the Primary Instrumental Programme provided to St Munchins Primary School. Students have been prepared for AMEB and ABRSM exams, eisteddfods and school concerts. She has also accompanied instrumentalists for exams and eisteddfods and ballet students.

Nicola has a particular interest in encouraging students to develop a confident performance personality. Opportunities are provided through an end of year concert, exams, Fremantle Eisteddfod, North of Perth Music festival and the Catholic Performing Arts Festival.
