About

Nicola graduated from the WA Conservatorium of Music WAAPA with a Diploma of Music Teaching, Certificate in Music and Associate in Pianoforte, having studied with the late Pauline Belviso.  During this time she participated in master classes with many visiting pianists.  In 1984 she was awarded the David O'Neil prize for Performance and in 1987, the WA Music Teachers Association award for Teaching.

Nicola has taught piano at Methodist Ladies College, Penrhos College for 11 years and St Munchins Primary School for four years. Students have been prepared for AMEB and ABRSM exams, eisteddfods and school concerts. She has also accompanied instrumentalists for exams and eisteddfods and ballet students.

Recent studies have seen her complete a Cert IV in Training and Assessment, Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care, Cert III in School Based Education Support and Cert IV in School Based Education Support Special Needs at South Metro Tafe.

She currently works at Cloverdale Education Support Centre as an EA working with students on the Austism Spectrum. 

Nicola has a particular interest in encouraging her Pianosound students to develop a confident performance personality. Opportunities are provided through an end of year concert, AMEB exams, Fremantle Eisteddfod, North of Perth Music Festival and the Catholic Performing Arts Festival.

Online studies with the esteemed pedagogue Irina Gorin has inspired Nicola to teach with 'Tales of a Musical Journey" which enables beginners to experience music learning in a holistic way, developing secure technical and musical foundations for excellent progress. AMEB theory lessons are also available to support musical understanding.
